SAFETY & SECURITY

To keep staff, patients and visitors safe, Usman Memorial Hospital uses a range of security measures, including the use of CCTV cameras, duress alarms for staff members and electronic access control systems for doorways. Usman Memorial Hospital has highly trained hospital security staff who are skilled in the special needs of healthcare facilities.

UMH Attendant’s Policy:

  • In general, family members and visitors are welcome from 10 am-11 am and 6 pm to 8 pm unless one or more of the following considerations are noted, or other special circumstances apply as described in this policy.
  • A paging announcement requesting visitors to leave the ward area will be done at the end of visiting hour and 15 minutes after visiting hours.
  • The main entrance outside the administration block will be locked after 8 pm and the entrance area of the OPD counter will be locked after 9 pm.
  • Only entrance from ER will be utilized after 9 pm.
  • To help patients recover and to not overly tire patients, visits should be brief, quiet and pleasant.
  • Children should always be accompanied by an adult other than the patient. Visits by children younger than 12 years of age are not allowed. Children above 12 years up to 18 years can only visit if they can comply with all isolation and/or infection control precautions.
  • All family members and visitors must collect their Visitor’s passes at ADT before proceeding to a patient care area. All passes are valid for one hospital course.
